Social label designs labor as a statement for a different view of work and appreciation for all. Through its design collection & community, Social label shapes an economy that leaves no one by the wayside. Social label's location speaks to the imagination, a transformation of an old factory into a contemporary lab with design shop and making studios. Different groups of creatives work together in the workshops craft, assembly, story and move in this versatile barrier-free place where public, makers and professionals come together.
The Social label Lab was opened by Queen Maxima in 2018. During festival "Whose Economy?" there are special tours of the monumental space with work units made from repurposed grain silos and water towers. Hostesses from Social label provide the tour through the lab with studios, design shop and tell you the stories behind the socially sustainable collection.
